Modesto, the county seat of Stanislaus County, boasts the motto “Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health.” Founded around the Central Pacific Railroad, it blossomed due to agriculture, with a reputation as the “Farm to Table Capital.” The city celebrates its rich history with the annual Graffiti Summer, paying homage to the classic car culture and the movie “American Graffiti,” which was based on Modesto.
